GunZ: The Duel relaunches globally on Steam — free, with no pay-to-win
On August 13, 2026, Masangsoft launched the global service of GunZ: The Duel on Steam — free-to-play and open worldwide.
If you played in the 2000s, it needs no introduction. If you’re new: GunZ is an action shooter with a movement system of its own — wall runs, dashes, aerial combat — and K-Style, a set of techniques discovered by the community itself that became the game’s trademark.
What changed in this version
The main points of the relaunch, according to Masangsoft:
- Pay-to-win removed. Stat advantages from progression and equipment are gone. Weapons were rebalanced and the shop is now cosmetic only.
- Remastered graphics, keeping the classic visual identity, with a modernized interface.
- Improvements requested during the playtests: an FOV slider, hit markers, multikill notifications and on-screen damage effects.
- Hundreds of new cosmetics, including outfits and dash effects.
- 20 Steam achievements.
What about K-Style?
Still in the game, on purpose. Butterfly, slash shot, wall cancel — the physics that defined GunZ are all there. The difference is that nobody can buy an advantage anymore: everyone starts equal.
How to play
Just install it from the game’s Steam page — it’s free. Starting from zero or coming back after years away? The beginner’s guide covers installation, game modes and first steps.
